YIN YOGA TRAINING FAQ

What is the difference between Yin Yoga Training and 200-hour Yoga Certification?

This Yin Yoga Training provides a focused and in depth study of Yin Yoga. While it is not a substitute for 200-hour Yoga Certification, it can be taken before or after a 200-hour training for those on a teaching path. 200-hour Yoga Certification is the minimum requirement, as recognized by Yoga Alliance, to qualify professional yoga teachers internationally. Given the wide breadth of yoga styles that exist today, there are innumerable fields of study one can focus on. This Yin Yoga Training is an excellent way to diversify your offerings as a yoga teacher and explore anatomy, mindfulness, Meridian Theory and Taoism.

Is this course registered with Yoga Alliance?

No, Caitlin Rose is NOT registered with Yoga Alliance. However, you can manually enter Continuing Education hours for your time in the training if you are currently a RYT.

After years of paying for a Yoga Alliance membership I determined the organization was not providing services nor bringing value to me as a professional that warranted the financial burden of being registered. While having international standards to be a Yoga teacher is a great concept, there is no mechanism to truly qualify and enforce standards.

In my personal experience, many Yoga trainings that are registered with Yoga Alliance are significantly flawed and many trainings that are no longer registered are fantastic. The same goes for teachers; being registered with Yoga Alliance has no real meaning in terms of how good a teacher is.

Where can I teach Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is increasing in popularity world-wide and is being recognized as a practice that has vast physical, psycho-emotional and spiritual benefits. Yoga studios, fitness centers, wellness collectives and private instructors are adding Yin Yoga to their schedules to balance rigorous exercise programs.

Yin Yoga can be practiced by all levels (true beginners and long-time practitioners alike find significant value in the practice), all backgrounds and all ages.

Yin Yoga can be an excellent bridge between a physical yoga practice and a meditation practice as it teaches practitioners how to surrender into stillness and observe and anchor the mind.

The tenets of Yin Yoga can expand a teacher's capacity to offer both strictly Yin classes and be woven with other genres like Gentle Yoga. Yin Yoga does not require a heated room nor special yoga props (although props are helpful when available) and thus can be practiced anywhere!

I don’t want to be a yoga teacher, is this program for me?

Yes! Most importantly, this program is designed to inspire your personal yoga practice, engage your intellect and be a container for emotional and spiritual inquiry. There will be exercises that cultivate teaching skills, and these practices are valuable regardless of whether you want to be a teacher because they ingrain knowledge. It does not matter how you wish to apply this training to your life, as long as you value learning and practicing this immersion will be a good fit.

Graduates from this program include Therapists, Social Workers, Artists, Business Consultants, Engineers, Massage Therapists, and Neurobiology Scientists.

I have an auto-immune disease, injury or medical condition, can I take this training?

Always consult with your doctor to determine if certain types of activities are appropriate for you.

If your doctor has approved, and you can participate in the full program, you can take this training. There are Yang practices (which involve more rigor) incorporated in this training to better understand and embody both yin and yang energy. You may do a modified Yang practice to accommodate your health needs.

If you have an auto-immune disease, injury or medical condition it is VERY IMPORTANT that you disclose this information in your application.

Is my deposit and tuition transferable or refundable?

Student cancellation policies vary training by training depending on the location and other factors. Accepted students can refer to the training waiver for specific training policies.
