Join experienced yoga teacher Caitlin Rose Kenney and acupuncturist Julia Bond for a unique and rich study of the wood element through the combined lens of Classical 5 Element Theory and Yin Yoga. The state of the 5 elements (wood, fire, water, earth and metal) within us impacts our whole being. During this course, we will explore the wood element which is associated with the organs of the Liver and Gallbladder.

According to 5 Element Theory, our organs are responsible for far more than anatomical functions. Each organ represents and controls a group of functions, attributes, and abilities in body, mind, and spirit directly affecting our energetic disposition. The state of our organs impacts our mental health, emotional state and energetic disposition. By combining the wisdom of 5 Element Theory and Yin Yoga we can personally begin to recognize these qualities within us and foster balance on all levels.

Springtime is the season of the wood element and just like the trees around us, the inner landscape must be rooted in order to grow. In a season marked by hope, birth and regeneration, we move out of the stillness of winter and into the bustling, dynamic energy of spring. Working with the wood element through yin yoga can support your attitude, adaptability, flexibility, discernement and focus. This is a potent time to harness the personal energy needed to bring the blueprint of your visions and dreams into fruition, just as we witness seeds thrusting their way through the earth.  A necessary part of our personal journey is detoxifying from inevitable stresses, toxins and distractions that life presents. This immersion, focused on a deep study of the wood element will stimulate the Liver and Gallbladder, preparing us to stay attuned to ourselves, flexible in our growth, and prioritize self-care.

Develop a sharper awareness of your inner workings. Understand the essence of this element through specific asanas and acupressure points. Support the flow of chi within you as we rise into Springtime.

Regardless of your state of health, studying the elements
